"The Forever Story" - JID

Lyrically perfect, hard beats and produced amazingly

The Forever Story is JID's newest album and an incredibly addition to his discography. Each song is lyrically magnificant. The flow is on point and this album has truly proved to me that JID is an amazing rapper. both lyrically and flow wise, his performance didn't drop at any point.

Galaxy is a really pretty and nice, melodic intro and then Raydar starts and it starts going hard. I loved the song Kody Blu 31 a lot, The singing and bass make for a sound that even gave me goosebumps and then there's Lil durk's performance on Bruddanem was really good and very pleasing to the ears. The sound and vibe of Sistanem is really cool and the worbling synth with the beat and bass made for a really somber atmoshpere but not so somber that it's slow and makes us cry. also James Blake is in the song and I love James blake. Stars has this REALLY nice synth which i love and the instrumentation on the track was just really great and chill. Better days is a really beautiful song about JID's friend. The chorus is pretty and the piano and general production is great. Lauder Too goes to hard with JID's flow and the fast bass and then there's the last song, 2007. The song wasn't on streaming services but I added it and it makes for a great ending to the record. The song changes instrumental a bunch and each beat is amazing. There's also a line that goes:

This my song, he came from deez nuts

Now for the critique. Just In Time has an off pitch instrumental and it just sounds disorienting and then Lil Wayne starts rapping but he sings before his verse and because the sample is off pitch, his singing, even though it's autotuned, sounds like it's off pitch.

Usually when it comes to albums I really love, they need to have a unique sound and have instrumentation or production that peaks my interest and sadly this album's instrumentals just didn't go in a direction that would make me LOVE this album but this is a hip-hop album and the real focus is the lyrics and flow which is spectacular. I do really wish that the instrumental and production was more interesting though because that's what kept me from really loving this album and giving it a 10 (If Just In Time wasn't on this album it would be a 9) so I'm giving The Forever Story an

Edit: Fuck was I talking bout. This album is a 9/10. Every song is incredible and aside from some personal gripes, this is one of the best hip-hop albums of all time.
