"The Colour In Anything" - James Blake
This somber, Ambient and delicate project feels like a comfortable bed you can't get out of.
The Colour In Anything by James Blake brings the signature, delicate and precise production of James into the perfect place for such production. This album is a sad and depressing journey through a quiet yet full world. With lyrics that make you want to cry and sounds that make you want to cry even more. This album is beautiful the whole way through. The songs that immedietly jumped out at me on the first listen were, "Radio silence" "Put that Away and talk to Me", "I Hope My Life - 1-800 Mix" and "I Need A Forest Fire" I listened to those songs a 100 times before I finally listened to the whole project in full and the rest of the album became great to me aswell when I heard it all in full. James' Vocals are beautiful and mixed with just how perfectly placed and mixed everything is, It sounds incredible. "My Willing Heart" was Co-Written by Frank Ocean and I usually don't care that much about lyrics but you can hear the masterful lyrics that Frank was able to contribute. "Timeless" Starts off sounding dark but then as the synths come in it becomes sweet.
The Album has It's downfalls though that stop it from being a 10. The songs "f.o.r.e.v.e.r", "The Colour In Anything" and "Meet You In The Maze" Left me feeling disappointed because of the lack of the wonderous production that's present on the rest of the album. It felt as though It had too little in it with "F.o.r.e.v.e.r" And "The Colour In Anything" Only having Piano and vocals and "Meet You In The Maze" Only having vocoded vocals. Even though these tracks lacked the production that I loved, they're still great songs but they made the album drop some overall points. But All that being said, I rate this album an
